A new website for the National Trust for Jersey

A new platform to power purpose and engagement
The National Trust for Jersey is a vital voice for the protection and preservation of island’s natural beauty, wildlife and historic places.
With new leadership and an ambitious vision, the Trust needed a digital platform that could reflect its evolving mission and support its long-term growth.
We partnered with the team to design and deliver a new website that repositions the Trust as a forward-thinking, impactful organisation. The site helps communicate what the Trust stands for, what it does and why it matters, encouraging more people to join, donate and get involved.
What we delivered
- Communication strategy and copywriting
- Website strategy, UX and content structure
- UI design and build
- Custom Umbraco CMS
- Custom functionality for donations and memberships
- CityPay transaction integration
- Client training and documentation

Messaging with clarity and purpose
We began by developing a comprehensive messaging framework to help the Trust communicate clearly, consistently and persuasively. This was essential not just for the website, but for all of the Trust’s future communications and campaigns.
The framework defined the Trust’s core value proposition - to protect, manage and preserve Jersey’s natural beauty, wildlife and historic places - and built messaging pillars around discovery, enjoyment and protection. We crafted key positioning statements and example messages for a wide range of audience types, including prospective members, donors, visitors, venue hirers and corporate sponsors.
This work helped shape the structure, content and tone of the site. It ensures the Trust’s purpose is clearly articulated, and that the site supports fundraising, membership and engagement goals.

Designed to do more
The Trust's previous site was dated and difficult to use - for the team, and for their audiences. We reimagined the user experience from the ground up, creating a clean, elegant design system that:
- Balances storytelling with clear structure
- Supports varied content types from wildlife to weddings
- Encourages sign-ups and donations across the journey
We created a content model and navigation that simplifies complexity while making space for growth, from practical visits and events to ambitious restoration projects and policy work.
Challenges met with clarity
The diversity of the Trust’s work created real content challenges. Different sections needed different tones - educational, inspirational, practical - but had to feel cohesive overall. Add to that limited internal resource, content gaps and a tight timeline, and this was never going to be a simple build.
We helped prioritise what mattered most for launch, made smart use of strong photography and built the site to grow over time. Key areas - Places to Visit, Activities - are scoped for future evolution as part of an ongoing partnership.
Built for the future
The Trust now has a flexible, modern platform it can confidently manage in-house. We provided tailored CMS training, empowering their small team to update content, launch new pages and track engagement.
This is a launchpad, not a one-off. The site will evolve in the months ahead as the Trust continues its transformation. We’re proud to support them every step of the way.
